i feel like there's some significance in devi never finding the confidence/urgency to have sex with paxton at the start of s3 but being ready to jump on with it with ben at the end

Nhie season 3 was so good!

1) Kamala and Prashant breaking up and Kamala going after the relationship she wants no matter what her grandmother says.

2) Devi and Paxton breaking up in episode 3????!!!!!! I was so shocked! I expected them to break up at the end of the season not this early!

3) Then we got to see Devi move on from Paxton and thrive. As the season went on, you could see her being more confident.

4) Ben was a condescending asshole to Aneesa. I’m glad she called him out on it and I respect Ben for acknowledging it, apologizing and for working on himself.

5) Aneesa was done so dirty. First, her bf prefers someone else over her, then her gf also prefers someone else over her (Rip Fabneesa) and then she disappears for the last couple of episodes.

6) I am so proud of Paxton for getting into college and for the speech he gave and I adore that he’s single and thriving and is friends with both Ben and Devi. I also love that he realizes that he’s grown out of the no-strings attached relationships and wants something more serious.

7) That Benvi scene at the end????? I was floored!

8) The scene with Devi and her mum in the last episode was so heartwarming!

This season is a 10/10. There are so many other little things that I want to discuss but my brain is seriously fried from watching nhie for 5 hours straight, so I can’t really think right now.

DEVI FORMING A NEW DREAM FOR HERSELF BUT LOOKING INTO HER PAST AND REALIZING BEN (PART OF HER OLD DREAM!!!) IS STILL PART OF HER DREAM IM-

I’m sure it’s been pointed out already but I love that Devi showed up at Ben’s as is. Like all season we saw her prep herself or even her room to be sexy for guys but she’s just herself when she goes to Ben’s

Reasons season 3 of NHIE is the best season:

1. We get more of Trent. That boy is a trophy husband and I’m here for it.

2. Mr. K FINALLY gets Kamala after a very long time of semi embarrassing pining

3. Paxton is so much nicer. No fuckboy qualities at all.

4. THAT SPEECH NALINI GAVE TO DEVI. WHY ARE WE NOT TALKING ABT IT MORE. ULTIMATE MOM MOMENT.

5. The entire episode where Ben thinks he’s dying but he just really has to shit

thinking abt ben in season one and how he was always afraid to be vulnerable but you can see that every time devi is hurt (noticing the ambulance sound distressed devi) (scared for devi when the coyote bit her but too shocked to react) and so on. and then this season he actively protects her by tellibg her about des’ mom (but also never tries to sabotage their relationship) and then in the finale he lets his guard down and tells devi he’ll miss her. it’s insane !!!! he adores her and devi is finally realising that ! they make me feel insane

the single funniest moment of nhie season 3 was when ben had his dramatic "it's time to move on and heal peace and love 💝" moment and decided he was going to let go of devi and then 3 seconds later he's like "ok change of plans fuck that" and it all goes to the trash we love a self destructive king !!!!

Ben and Devi routinely show that they feel safe enough with one another to truly be themselves, less-than-desirable qualities and all, while also challenging each other and making each other better. In fact, they often show that they value each other for all of their weird, unique, or annoying qualities that others just don’t get. Above all, they are always there for each other and frequently get deep with each other. Are they perfect? No, of course not! But it’s clear that they share a powerful connection. They truly like each other for who they are and are best friends and confidantes. If that isn’t a soulmate connection, then I don’t know what is.

How could people not be team Ben?!

Don’t get me wrong, Paxton is a great guy. But after all the trouble Devi caused, Paxton was embarrassed. After all the trouble Devi caused Des was embarrassed. After all the trouble Devi caused Ben was still trying to get her. And come on, the way he looks at her. I would choose him too. And between their playful banter and their enemies to lover trope god. “There’s the stomach knots” “you left me” “I just wanted to make sure you were okay” “Devi, I’m all in” “I’ll miss you, a lot” and even the “good night Devi”

And omg Ben’s “confused” facial expressions make this whole show

the thing i love most about never have i ever is that the teenagers are unapologetically absolute fucking idiots

i love how they really delved into just how much paxton actually cares this season; its in the way paxton found devi when she was upset and comforted her. the way paxton helped ben process his feelings and also keeping him company in hospital. the way paxton lended a listening ear to fabiola and helped her to ask aneesa out. the way paxton tried to break the news that he was moving to trent in the gentlest way he could. paxton hall-yoshida is so gentle actually and its so endearing

oh, you mean the girl who looks at you like nothing else matters in the world?? that devi?

thinking about how ben and devi literally dated for like. a week maybe and how ben says she broke his heart a year after it happened, still hurting. and how he didn't even really try moving on from his broken heart until a year and a half after (because yes, while he liked aneesa, she was nothing but a distraction). and how the second he heard devi was going to leave, he throws that all out. tells her he doesn't want her to go, because he'll miss her. because even though they missed their chance, he can't not have her in his life. because he knows he's not going to move on, not really, because he still loves her. because she is his best friend. because sherman oaks wouldn't be the same without her. because ben wouldn't be the same without her.
